Thailand’s Long Term or LTR visa gives you an easy way to move to and stay in the Kingdom for an extended period and even pursue a career if you so choose.

Unlike other residency visas that require yearly renewals and reporting to immigration every 90-days, the LTR visa needs renewal only every 5 years and only requires you to report to immigration once a year.

You also don’t need to go through the hassle of getting a re-entry permit when you want to travel outside of Thailand; you can come and go as you please and enjoy expedited immigration service at the airport.

This visa also sets itself apart by enabling you to get a work permit and obtain a position with a Thai company. You are also exempt from the 4:1 Thai-to-foreigner employment ratio rule, potentially making you a much more attractive candidate to prospective employers than applicants holding other types of visas.

All applicants, if they are approved, must pay a one time 50,000 THB visa fee for their 10-year visa. To qualify for the LTR visa, you must meet a range of eligibility requirements, which are dependent on which category of applicant you fall into:

This may be as a:

• Highly-skilled Professional

• A work from Thailand Professional

• A wealthy Global Citizen

• A wealthy Pensioner

The checklist includes a degree or an investment or in some cases you’ll need to show a personal annual income of $80,000 over the last 2 years among several other requirements.

This is just one of the options that will allow you to stay in Thailand.

You can contact your nearest Thai Embassy.

Most major law firms in Thailand can be searched online and they can suggest what type of visa suits you best .
